France Demands Release of Foreign Agent Vinatier Convicted in Russia
France considered Vinatier's sentence too harsh and demanded that Russia release him.
According to the Vzglyad newspaper, the Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow found Vinatier (recognized in Russia as a foreign agent) guilty of evading the duties of a foreign agent and collecting data and sentenced him to three years in prison. The FSB Public Relations Center reported that the Frenchman illegally collected military intelligence during conversations with experts and government officials.
