St. Petersburg does not support ban on migrants working in transport
The Standing Committee of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg on Transport and Development of Transport Infrastructure rejected a federal bill that proposed, among other things, banning immigrants from working in the transport sector. "The committee meeting discussed a federal law that would limit legal opportunities for immigrants in some industries, including transportation. Committee members disagree with the proposal, arguing that such a ban would disrupt the functioning of city businesses and organizations where immigrants make up a significant part of the workforce," the report says.
