Tourist tax planned to be introduced in Vladivostok as early as 2025: who will pay

Vladivostok, October 15, FederalPress. The Vladivostok administration has prepared a new law on local autonomy, which proposes the introduction of a tourist tax. If the document is approved by the city council deputies, the taxes will appear in the new year.

The mayor's office emphasized that the tourist tax will not be paid by the city's guests themselves. This tax is collected by companies and individual entrepreneurs providing hotel services. Taxes are levied on objects registered in a special register.

The mayor's office calculated that in the first year alone the city budget will receive more than 75 million rubles from the tourist tax. And companies will have to pay only 1% of the new taxes.

It was previously reported that experiments on establishing resort fees were being introduced in a number of Russian cities. For example, in September last year, St. Petersburg received 85 million rubles under this article.
