Russia's GDP grew by 4.2% in the first eight months of 2024

Russia's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 4.2% in the first eight months of this year. As reported by TASS, this was stated by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin in his speech at the Made in Russia export forum.

According to the politician, Russian foreign trade continues to develop dynamically, despite "unprecedented challenges." According to him, GDP growth occurred mainly due to changes in exports and expansion of cooperation with friendly partners. Mishustin emphasized that its share in the total foreign trade turnover is constantly increasing.

Earlier, President Vladimir Putin said that domestic companies contribute to significant growth in the country's GDP after the departure of foreign companies. According to the head of state, domestic production works more efficiently due to the "choice" of certain areas of work. The President added that Russian partners supply only relatively cheap products to the Russian industrial goods market.
