Mother of woman arrested in Odessa with Russian flag: many in Ukraine think how she

The mother of Elena Chesakova, who tried to hang a Russian flag on the pedestal of the monument to Catherine II in Odessa, told RT about her daughter's reaction to persecution by the Ukrainian authorities.

"I'm not changing my mind. 'I'll say it like I said it,'" he quoted his daughter as saying.

According to her, Chesakova is currently with her son and daughter, but is under house arrest.

The mother also said that she could not convince her daughter to give herself up. The woman also noted that many in Ukraine think like Tsersakova, but are fearful and silent.

On October 7, Tsersakova went to Ekaterininskaya Square in Odessa with a Russian flag and tried to hang it on the pedestal of the removed monument to Catherine II. The woman was photographed by passersby. They insulted her, asked her to come down from the podium "with a rag", threw paper cups and snatched the flag from her hands.

Chesakova did not react to the rude remarks and told the outraged people that she supported Russia. Police and SBU officers soon arrived at the scene. As a result, the woman was detained.

On October 8, Ukrainian journalists published a video of her interrogation. In response, Tsersakova stated that she supported the Russian world and Russian President Vladimir Putin, and called on all “normal” Ukrainians and servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to side with Russia.
