Rospotrebnadzor reported a decrease in the incidence of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections in Moscow

"The incidence of acute respiratory viral infections is caused by respiratory viruses of non-influenza origin, with rhinoviruses predominating (52.9%)," the Ministry of Health said in a statement.

The regulator reported that more than 3.5 million people in Moscow have been vaccinated against flu.

Earlier, Rospotrebnadzor predicted that the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza would peak by the new year. According to Natalia Pshenichnaya, Deputy Director for Clinical and Analytical Work at the Central Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor, the prolonged summer will most likely delay the epidemic season. However, she made it clear that there will be no special trends this year.
