Moscow to Celebrate 210th Anniversary of Lermontov's Birth
The capital has prepared a cultural program to celebrate Mikhail Lermontov's birthday. Residents and guests of the city are invited to the library and cultural center. As Deputy Mayor of Moscow Natalya Sergunina reported, almost 100 events are being held in the city.
Natalya Sergunina: “From October 15 until the end of the month, film screenings, lectures, literary evenings and exhibitions about the creative legacy of the classics will be held at various venues.”
Accordingly, on October 15, the Gogol House will show screen adaptations of parts of the novel "A Hero of Our Time" and the drama "Kwanghae", as well as the film "Belinsky". And lectures are planned on Moscow places associated with Lermontov. Library No. 148 named after Tyutchev will organize literary games on October 15. On October 17, Library No. 16 will host a lecture on the motives in the artist's work.
On October 16, the Planet of Youth center will host a romance based on Lermontov's poem, and in library #72, readers will be able to learn about the history of the creation of the drama Masquerade. Some events require prior registration.
