Leningrad Region Decides to Cut Holiday Spending to Support SVO
The Leningrad Region Administration has decided to reduce funding for social, cultural, concert and forum events in 2024 in order to increase support for participants in special military operations (SMO).
As reported by the regional government press service, Governor Alexander Drozdenko instructed heads of departments and committees to make proposals for the redistribution of funds for holidays and festivals to support the Northern Military District.
Drozdenko also ordered that business trips for administrative staff be limited. Trips not related to signing documents or duties of local representatives will now be kept to a minimum. Participation in forums and conferences is also limited unless staff members are speakers or presenters.
Similar recommendations were sent to the local administration of the Leningrad Region, which calls for optimizing expenses on entertainment events and bringing additional resources into line with priority needs.
