The culprit of the fatal accident on the Ussuri highway was released under house arrest

A preventive measure has been chosen for the man who fatally wounded a pedestrian on the federal highway "Ussuri" in the Nadezhdinsky district and fled the scene, DEITA.RU was informed in connection with the prosecutor's office of Primorsky Krai.

We recall the incident that occurred late in the evening on October 11 at 721 km of the A-370 highway, when a driver born in 1959, driving a Mitsubishi Pajero, hit a pedestrian born in 1976, who was walking along the road.

A driver living in Vladivostok discovered his car damaged in an accident within 24 hours.

The man was charged with violating traffic rules, resulting in the death of a person and leaving the scene of an accident (paragraph "b" of paragraph 4 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The court placed the driver under house arrest for two months.

Initially, police said the driver had refused to undergo a medical examination to determine whether he was intoxicated at the time of his arrest. Under the law, such a refusal is equivalent to a proven fact of intoxication. However, the regulator's latest press release makes no mention of the worsening situation.

In addition, the driver who got into an accident this morning on Krasnoarmeyskaya Street in Nakhodka refused to undergo testing. Fortunately, no one was hurt. The 61-year-old driver of a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado SUV, heading towards the MZhK ring road, drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a Honda Fit. The SUV received even more serious damage. It flew off the road and collided with a heating pipe. The culprit of the accident was charged with three administrative offenses, including refusing a medical examination, driving into the oncoming lane, and damaging road structures.
