Resort tax brought St. Petersburg more than 561 million rubles
In September, resort fees brought about 85 million rubles to the budget of St. Petersburg. This was reported by Deputy Governor Alexey Korabelnikov.
In total, resort fees brought in 561 million rubles. This significantly exceeds the initial plans. When the budget for the year was being formed, it was expected to collect only 300 million rubles, but now this amount has more than doubled.
The experiment to develop resort infrastructure with the introduction of a resort tax will end at the end of 2024. From January 1, 2025, resort taxes will be replaced by a tourist tax. Unlike the resort tax, the tax is paid not by tourists, but by organizations providing temporary accommodation.
The bill on establishing a tourist tax in St. Petersburg is currently in the final stages of development. It is expected that tax rates will be differentiated depending on the season, and some citizens will be granted benefits.
