Chief weather forecaster of St. Petersburg Kolesov told whether the city will get snow following the capital
Forecasters recently promised snow in St. Petersburg this week. Then a prediction appeared that it would happen on October 15. However, atmospheric processes are developing differently. Drizzle and light rain are expected in the northern capital on this day. However, wet snow is still expected in the Leningrad Region. This was reported on his Telegram channel by the chief forecaster of the northern capital, Alexander Kolesov.
- High pressure has formed in the European region of Russia, where the sky is clear and the temperature is below zero. And in Belarus, a cyclone will develop, bringing heat and rain, and move north. The frontal part separates two completely different air masses, so precipitation in the form of rain in the Moscow region will turn into wet snow and by evening will reach the territory of the eastern part of the Leningrad region, the weather forecaster said.
So on the night of October 15 and the first half of Tuesday in the east of the country there will be wet snow and rain, but that's all. Good weather is expected in this area later. By the way, the same is true for St. Petersburg. But not on the first day of the week.
- At the beginning of this week, the northern capital will have the same weather, with barely noticeable daily temperature fluctuations. "For two days, the thermometer has been between +7 and +9 degrees," Kolesov added.
And from October 16, high pressure will come from the west. Over the weekend, the city and the region will remain relatively warm, dry and sunny.
"In St. Petersburg during this period, night and morning temperatures will be low - from +3 to +6 degrees, and daytime temperatures - from +11 to +13 degrees," the weather forecaster summed up.
