Sberbank warns Sberbank Online users about dangerous scammers' trick
Fraudsters have started to contact citizens and persuade them to replace the official Sberbank application with a malicious one.
Bank representatives warned all Sberbank Online users about this, DEITA.RU reports.
According to the portal "Banki.ru", the scammers called the Russians and convinced them that the outdated application from the country's largest credit institution needed to be urgently replaced with a new one.
At the same time, the scammers send citizens a direct link to download them. Naturally, this turns out to be malicious, and the people deceived by the scammer lose control over their electronic devices.
At this time, fraudsters take advantage of this moment and use all the possibilities of the mobile version of the bank. They collect loans from Russians and withdraw the money received in this way to cards and accounts.
Sometimes, as Sberbank noted, attackers try to convince Russians to make video calls using the screen sharing function in order to help citizens install applications of their choice.
In fact, the fraudster only remembers the code combination for entering the victim's mobile banking account. Due to their carelessness and deception, Russians not only lose all their money, but also receive huge debts on loans.
That's why this plan of attack is so dangerous. To avoid being scammed, you should completely avoid clicking on direct SMS links from all strangers.
