A Voronezh pensioner has been unable to get her bomb shelter repaired for several years

Voronezh pensioners have been unable to repair bomb shelters for several years.

After the publication of the article about the demolition of the illegally demolished Soviet bomb shelter on Novosibirskaya Street, pensioner Lyudmila Volkova called the editorial office of <МОЁ!>. The woman said that she had been fighting for many years for the authorities to clear the bomb shelter in the basement of her house in the Komintenovsky District of Voronezh. But so far, to no avail.

Built in 1955, the four-story building originally had three (!) separate bomb shelters located under different entrances to the building. At one time, the residential building was built by one of the city's largest corporations. The building was built in good faith. Today, from the street, the four-story building looks much younger than its age.

However, there is one problem that could not be detected, for example, three years ago. And now, in these troubled times, this issue has become even more pressing. The problem is the condition of this bomb shelter. After the conglomerate they were part of died and finally closed, the shelter was practically abandoned.

Take this opportunity to say "MINE!" And reader Lyudmila Volkova spoke up.

"When these companies dumped all their social payments on the city, the bomb shelters mostly started to die," the pensioner said. "During the Soviet era, classes and training sessions for employees of the enterprises were constantly held here, and students would gather here for classes. There were no sun loungers here, but there were gas masks and water. And when the bomb shelters at the factories became unnecessary, some of the facilities gradually began to disappear. However, the ventilation systems, emergency exits, iron doors, etc. remained.

According to Lyudmila Nikolaevna, in the early 2000s, some companies decided to build mini-pools in bomb shelters and even dug holes for them. However, residents were outraged, and the situation did not develop as planned.

And in 2002, Lyudmila Volkova received a response signed by the then head of the Civil Defense Service, Sergei Khomuk. The letter reads: "The civil defense shelter located in the basement of the building at the address... has been leased for five years until December 2006 for the creation of food and non-food facilities. Store there..." A year later, the company's contact with the Contract company was terminated and it left the shelter, but the latter did not feel better, although the authorities promised to "preserve the protective properties of the shelter."

"A few years ago, there was something like a dormitory for illegals here, and they lived right in the bomb shelter. And since the beginning of the SVO, the Ministry of Emergency Situations has come here eight times, I showed them around the shelter, took pictures and left," said Lyudmila Volkova.

With her <MY!> correspondents. We visited two of the three shelters mentioned. To get inside, you will have to live in this house. This is due to the fact that the entrance to the basement from some entrances is also the entrance to the shelter. We go down into the darkness. On the right is the door of a barn with cucumbers and jam, and on the left is a concrete safe and a thick metal door.

The first is a typical bomb shelter (the second is called the "control center"), everything is clean and dry. High ceilings, working ventilation, relatively new pipes. At first glance, it is a labyrinth of several rooms, accommodating hundreds of people.

"They started digging a pool here." Lyudmila Volkova turns on the light in the room. "Over time, we noticed that the earth was being moved somewhere, and we put an end to this problem. Now we need to fill this funnel and bring the floor level back to normal.

Another bomb shelter, the former command post of the local administration, is located in another wing of the house. Our guide recalls that inside there was everything for a commander: a telephone, a radio, a table with chairs. In case of an emergency, a civil servant was supposed to lead the district.

There are still signs and markers in the basement of the building. In one of the rooms there is a crib and a blanket. These are things that were prepared in the kindergarten next to my house in case something happened...

If you invest a little money, your shelter will be fully prepared for any emergency. But today it is a common and almost unused part of the basement of the house. Anyone can enter this place through the entrance. In fact, it is clean, there are no empty bottles, syringes, or cigarette butts.

A correspondent of "MOYO!" The request was sent to the Federal Reserve System, which has all the bomb shelters on its balance sheet. We asked what structures and methods should be used to maintain this facility in full readiness and to be responsible for this condition. We will definitely inform our readers of the answer.
