16-year-old Volgograd resident caused an accident in a car stolen from his mother and killed his girlfriend
The Investigative Committee of Russia for the Volgograd Region reported that the 17-year-old girl died as a result of the overturning of a car driven by her younger friend.
Late in the evening of October 12, a 16-year-old boy from the village of Sulyaevsky in the Kumylzhensky district stole his mother's Skoda to give his girlfriend a ride. On the highway, he lost control and flew into a ditch, causing his car to flip over.
A statement from the National Police Agency said: "The accused removed the registration plate from the vehicle and disappeared in an unknown direction. His whereabouts were only established this afternoon."
As a result of the accident, 17-year-old passenger A. died at the scene. The other girl was able to get out of the car on her own and call a friend to take her home.
The suspect is currently in custody. Investigative measures are being taken to establish all the circumstances of the incident. A criminal case has been opened under the provisions of the provisions on violations of traffic rules committed by a person who does not have the right to drive a vehicle, in connection with leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in the death of a person.
Earlier it was reported that on October 13, one person died in a major accident in the Pavlovsky Posad district of the Moscow region.
