In Novosibirsk, a green lawn has appeared on the site of the demolished Park-cafe building on Pervomayskaya Square, which has become an important step in completing the long history of the reconstruction of the facility. This is reported by BFM-Novosibirsk.
The site has long been the subject of litigation and remains abandoned even after the restaurant was demolished. Visually, the park was not in its best shape until October, with foundation fragments and construction debris still in place. City officials have long said they cannot decide who should clean up the remains after the dismemberment and are waiting for the owners to act.
As a result, the cleanup and reclamation work was financed by the city budget. A contractor was selected in early August, and work began soon after. However, even after the dirt was delivered, the site did not look finished. This changed in October, when the area grew thick green grass and became part of a community garden.
The new lawn has become a popular place for visitors to take photos even in cold weather. Clearing this area will cost the city 1.4 million rubles.
