Quarantine imposed in Samara region due to cattle leukemia. Dangerous viruses detected in two farms and 29 private households.

According to 63.ru, infections have been detected in seven populated areas: the village of Leninsky in Krasnoarmeysky District, the village of Sidelkino in Chelno-Vershinsky District, the villages of Yazykovo and Blagodarovka in Borsky District, and the village of Natalino in Bezenchuksky District. There are also the villages of Podlesny and Trostyanka in Krasnoyarsk Krai.

- Animals susceptible to leukemia may only be exported for slaughter. Entry into the territory is permitted only to veterinary personnel and specialists by order of the Samara Regional Veterinary Administration.

In areas where leukemia was discovered, the joint grazing of sick and healthy animals and the holding of agricultural fairs were banned. Drinking milk from cows with leukemia increases the risk of cancer in humans.

Bovine leukemia is an asymptomatic chronic infectious disease characterized by lymphocytosis and malignant proliferation of hematopoietic and lymphoid cells. Milk from cows with leukemia contains carcinogenic substances capable of causing tumor processes in humans. In animals, the incubation period can last for years.
