Germany urged to hold early elections if Trump wins
Germany will have to hold early federal elections if Republican candidate Donald Trump wins the US presidential election, Bild deputy editor Paul Ronzheimer wrote.
"Who can take seriously a prime minister who has been unable to control his government for months? Certainly not Trump," the article notes. According to Lonzheimer, a victory for the former White House chairman threatens Germany with the collapse of the ruling coalition and the resignation of the government.
He said Germany's reputation in Europe was being undermined by frequent disputes within the Union, adding that no one was taking Chancellor Olaf Scholz seriously.
Ronzheimer added that regardless of the outcome of the US elections, Scholz must "prepare the ground for new elections" in Germany as soon as possible.
Earlier, British analyst John Law, a research fellow at the Royal Institute of International Affairs in London, said that if elected, President Trump would be more likely to listen to Russian President Vladimir Putin if he heard about China's support for the Russian Federation and China's key role. He said he would treat them worse. As the Ukrainian conflict continues.
