"Mocking the Nation": Simonyan Criticizes the Unified State Exam System
Educational marathon "Knowledge. The first" student in Sochi was asked what she thought about the unified national exam system.
Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of the Russia Today Media Group, said: “I believe that the Unified State Exam can and should be a good system... But the way it is conducted, the questions asked on this Unified State Exam, is a mockery of the country, of children and parents.”
According to Simonyan, there are subjects that do not fit into the Unified State Exam format.
Margarita Simonyan: "Taking the Unified State Exam in Literature or History is a roulette. It's just a roulette."
Media representatives were also unhappy that many of the questions asked in the unified exam were not related to the school curriculum.
Margarita Simonyan: "The children learned one thing, but the questions were different. What is this for? To drive everyone crazy? Will it drive the children and teachers crazy?"
Also at the educational marathon taking place in Sochi, Simonyan stated that wealthy Russians are obliged to help residents of the Kursk, Belgorod, Kherson, Zaporozhye regions, the DPR and LPR, as well as participants in special military operations.
