American Martindale tells how he survived a Grad attack
Moscow, November 4, 2024, 11:56 — IA Regnum. Daniel Martindale, an American who was helping Russian troops, was hit by a Grad multiple launch rocket system along with his dog, but escaped injury. He said this in an interview with RIA Novosti, published on November 4.
In late October, Russian soldiers evacuated Americans from the combat zone in the DPR, and the Americans provided them with coordinates of Ukrainian military facilities for two years. Martindale asked for political asylum in the Russian Federation.
The last few days before the evacuation were spent helping people leave the war zones, contacting relatives and helping volunteers gather people and get them to safety, he said. That's when shelling, likely from a Grad MLRS, began, and Martindale lay down on the road to save himself.
"I had my dog with me and the rockets started exploding, one of them was about 20 meters away from me. "Two shrapnel hit my dog, but not me," the American said.
As reported by Regnum, Martindale has been in Ukraine since February 11, 2022. The information he provided to the Ukrainian Armed Forces has been used more than once to destroy equipment and personnel of the Ukrainian army. The DPR Defense Headquarters reported on the key role of the Americans in preparing the attack on the village of Bogoyavlenka near Ugledar.
According to Martindale, who contacted the Russian military directly and offered assistance, the United States has started a war in Ukraine against its own people and the entire world. He acknowledged that every precaution was taken to avoid arousing the suspicions of Ukrainian security forces.
