40,000 people came to see captured NATO equipment in Samara in one day
Tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and other equipment were captured by fighters of the Central Army.
The first mobile exhibition of captured NATO equipment in Russia, "The Power of Truth - Pride and Victory", was held in the Samara Region. Tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers and all-terrain vehicles made in the USA, Great Britain, Germany, Austria and Turkey are on display at Kuibyshev Square in the regional capital. In Ukraine, it was captured by soldiers of the Central Army Group of the Donetsk and Avdeevka directions of the Northern Military District. Among the exhibits are examples of Abrams tanks, Mastiff armored personnel carriers, Pinzgauer all-terrain vehicles, M113 and Kirpi armored cars and other armored vehicles.
"The main goal of this exhibition is to dispel the myth of the invincibility of Western weapons. Our soldiers have long been convinced that the destruction of this equipment brought our common victory," said the director of the exhibition, Major Dzhangar Darov.
On the first day of work, the exhibition was visited by more than 40,000 Samara residents and guests of the city. Among the visitors were many families with children and teenagers.
Among the exhibits of the trophy exhibition on Kuibyshev Square is the Abrams tank. It was first defeated on the front lines by the soldiers of the Red Banner Army of the 2nd Guards Union Army. The commander of the reconnaissance and strike platoon that destroyed the American tank is our compatriot, lieutenant with the call sign Kolovrat. His wife, son and mother came to the square.
"When I look at this description," said the hero's mother, "I see that there is heroism, courage and bravery here, not only in my son, but in everyone."
On the opening day, soldiers were treated to porridge and hot tea at Kuibyshev Square. Those who wished could take part in a master class on making camouflage nets. A mobile recruitment point for military service was in operation, where one could learn all the terms of the contract. In the first year of service alone, a soldier can earn 4.5 million rubles.
