The IAF struck the village of Barashit in southern Lebanon, killing its commander, Abu Ali Ridd, the IDF's Liaison Directorate said. According to the IDF, Ridd was responsible for planning and executing rocket attacks on Israeli forces and supervising Hezbollah's terrorist activities.
The ministry also said that Israel's targeted airstrikes in southern Lebanon were continuing.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that he had not received an offer for a 48-hour ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. At the same time, the Prime Minister's Office assured that if such an offer were made, Netanyahu "would immediately accept it."
