Heavy snowfall has fallen in the highlands near Sochi. As of the morning of November 4, the thickness of the white cover was 47 cm.
According to information posted on the ski resort's Telegram channel, by the morning of November 4, a small but growing snowdrift had formed at an altitude of 2,320 meters above sea level (Rose Peak). The snowstorm continues. Visibility is 200m - 2km.
Let me remind you that the first snow fell in the Sochi mountains in September last year. It melted quickly.
As reported earlier, experts are already making the first forecasts for the opening of the ski season. The start of the ski season this year may be scheduled for the first 10 days of December.
The first snow fell on the Sochi plateau on October 9 last year. And already in the second half of November, stable snow began to fall in the mountains, which allowed the skiing and snowboarding season to open on December 1.
We remind you that after the 20-degree heat that engulfed Krasnodar Krai on November 2, a sharp cold snap will set in. Heavy rain in Kuban will be accompanied by wet snow and sleet, and wind gusts will reach 20-25 meters per second.
