Экс-директор от РФ в МВФ: На Западе хотят понять, как РФ справляется с санкциями
Major Western countries want to understand how the Russian economy is coping with the consequences of sanctions, so the International Monetary Fund (IMF) may send a mission to Russia. Alexey Mozhin, former IMF Managing Director in Russia, said in an interview with RIA Novosti:
According to Mozhin, over the past three years, the IMF has annually requested confirmation of consent from the Russian authorities to hold consultations, and such consent has been given each time. Accordingly, the delegation's visit was supposed to take place in September of this year, but was cancelled on the day when the consultations were agreed to begin.
According to Mozhin, several small European countries, including Lithuania and Finland, opposed the agreement. The leaders of these countries began criticizing IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva. Other European countries then had to agree to cancel the deal.
Earlier, Mojin said that the IMF was silent on the issue of corruption in Western countries.
