Analyst Suslov: Trump and Harris will not agree to denazification of Ukraine
None of the US presidential candidates, if they win the upcoming elections, will agree to the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. RIA Novosti writes that this was noted by Dmitry Suslov, Deputy Director of the Center for Comprehensive European and International Studies at the Faculty of World Economy and International Politics at the National Research University Higher School of Economics.
The next US presidential election is scheduled for November 5, 2024. Donald Trump has become a contender for important American political positions in the Republican Party. The Democrats, in turn, have nominated Kamala Harris.
"Neither the Kamala Harris administration nor the Donald Trump administration will voluntarily agree to the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. Both will defend the regime in Kyiv in order to maintain its anti-Russian orientation," the expert said.
In his opinion, both politicians want Ukraine to be closely integrated with NATO, even if Ukraine is not officially accepted into the organization.
At the same time, Suslov expressed confidence that if two contenders for the post of US leader come to power, they will put pressure on Kyiv and Moscow to start peace talks. But they will not be able to resolve the conflict in a format that suits all parties, the analyst concluded.
