A cell of dangerous extremists has been eliminated in southern Kazakhstan
During a security operation in the city of Kentau (Turkestan region) in Kazakhstan, a secret cell of the religious extremist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir was identified and liquidated.
According to the republic's Ministry of Internal Affairs, 10 members of the cell were detained. Their home was searched and a large amount of religious extremist literature and other material evidence was seized.
It is believed that the leader of the group had previously been convicted.
