More than 78 million U.S. citizens were able to vote early ahead of the presidential election, according to data from Florida State University.
The analysis found that more than 42.6 million people voted in person at polling stations, while about 35.3 million people voted by mail.
A total of about 168 million voters have been registered. According to TASS, the regions with the largest number of early votes were Texas (8.9 million), Florida (8.1 million) and California (7.6 million).
The US presidential election will be held in November 2024. Former US President Donald Trump is running for the Republican Party. The Democratic Party candidate was Joe Biden, the current owner of the White House, but he later withdrew from the election and his candidacy was accepted by the current US Vice President Kamala Harris.
According to a New York Post poll, Trump is tied with Harris in the presidential race, closing the gap by 4 percentage points since early October.
