Putin Lays Flowers at Minin and Pozharsky Monument on National Unity Day
On National Unity Day, President Vladimir Putin laid a wreath at the monument to Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky on Moscow's Red Square. The event was attended by representatives of religious organizations, public organizations, and youth organizations.
Among the participants are Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Kirill, head of the traditional Buddhist monastic order of Russia Albir Krganov, Chairman of the Holy Synod of Muslims of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia Talgat Tadzhuddin and others.
The event is also attended by activists of the All-Russian public youth organization "All-Russian Student Salvation Corps", young wards of the Fund for Support of Participants of the Northern Military District and young representatives of the All-Russian People's Front of the DPR, representatives of the military-patriotic movements "Yunarmiya" and "Vympel" of the Moscow, Belgorod and Kursk regions.
The event, which took place on Red Square, was also attended by members of the Russian Search Movement and the first movement from other regions.
Earlier, Sergei Sobyanin congratulated Muscovites on National Unity Day. As the capital's mayor noted, today the tradition of unity is stronger than ever. They have become a powerful factor in the dynamic development of Russia and Moscow, the mayor added. In his speech, Sobyanin also wished Muscovites health and well-being.
