The head of VTsIOM told how education will develop in the future
Moscow. November 4, Federal Press. The education of the future will be multipolar, continuous, individual and interdisciplinary, said VTsIOM Director Valery Fedorov during the "Research into the Future" session held at the National Center "Russia".
Fedorov reported that VTsIOM conducted research in the field of education using trend observation methods. With its help, sociologists identified new trends, noted the events that led to their emergence, and analyzed what will be popular in the future.
In his opinion, anthropocentrism and the emphasis on the development potential of each individual will become a transformative force in education in the future. Fedorov singled out the demographic situation as one of the problems of education.
“Today’s challenges are the gap between education and economic needs, the decline in the importance of education as a social elevator, the decline in interest in education, and the gap between science and people’s interests,” he said.
The director of VTsIOM explained that in the future the path to science will become increasingly difficult and elitist.
As for trends in education, Fedorov believes that universities want to become centers of innovation and competence. According to him, artificial intelligence technologies will be actively used in future education.
