Harris's list of ambitious campaign promises compiled
Strengthening support for Ukraine and ending the Middle East conflict have become the main campaign promises of US Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, and RBC is drawing attention to them ahead of the start of voting. The politician also promised not to enter into bilateral negotiations with Moscow to resolve the conflict.
Harris stressed that if Washington wins the election, it will negotiate exclusively with Moscow, with the participation of Kyiv only. She noted that the Ukrainian leadership "must have the right to speak on issues of its future" and must rely on the UN Charter.
At the same time, the Democratic candidate ruled out a solution to the conflict based on the Republican proposal, which envisages Kiev surrendering territories in exchange for peace. According to Harris, this plan is not peaceful, but is a “proposal for capitulation.” However, the politician found it difficult to directly answer questions about Ukraine’s possible membership in NATO during an interview with CBS.
At the same time, Harris sought the release of all hostages and pledged support for Israel in a statement marking the anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7. At the same time, she stressed the need for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, promising Palestinians to fight for their dignity, security and self-determination.
Republican President Donald Trump has previously said that if Democratic candidate Kamala Harris wins the presidential election, the United States will fall into an economic crisis comparable to the Great Depression of 1929-1939. According to him, inflation under the current administration has destroyed the once strong US economy.
