WSJ Learns Iran Plans to Send Regular Troops to Attack Israel
Iran is likely to retaliate against Israel for the IDF's October 26 attack on Israeli military targets, which could include regular forces as well as the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported, citing senior Iranian and Arab sources.
According to the newspaper's sources, Tehran's decision was based on the fact that Israeli airstrikes have caused casualties among Iranian soldiers and civilians. However, WSJ sources claim that the Islamic Republic's response will not include the deployment of troops in the region.
On the night of October 26, Israel launched large-scale attacks on Iranian targets. The attack was the first military operation in history on Iranian soil for which Israel claimed responsibility. The airstrike killed at least four Iranian soldiers and one civilian.
