Nuclear Physicist Ozharovsky Reveals Whether Ukraine Will Be Able to Create Nuclear Weapons in a Month
Moscow, October 17, FederalPress. A Ukrainian official said that Ukraine could create a nuclear weapon within weeks to use against the Russian Federation. Andrey Ozharovsky, a physicist with the Radioactive Waste Safety program, explained whether Ukraine has the potential to create a nuclear weapon.
The situation is similar with the development of nuclear weapons based on plutonium. An expert wrote in Gazeta.ru that this process requires the production of modern chemicals and will take many years.
"To make a nuclear warhead, plutonium must be extracted from spent nuclear fuel. Or use special reactors and plutonium production plants, as in Russia. But this also cannot be done secretly. The production volumes required for this should be compared with the Russian chemical plant Mayak," Ozharovsky concluded.
Let me remind you that the portal 360.ru reported that within a few weeks Ukraine could create nuclear weapons for use against Russia. The State Duma assessed Ukraine's "capabilities".
