Shot in the head from behind: dog hunter brutally killed a dog near Tyumen
— The last time Ryzhik was seen alive was on October 13 at 18:00. The next morning I went to the booth to feed them and saw a mound next to the booth and a soft pile under it. I started digging and there was Ryzhik’s fur. I dug around and found a hole near his ear. It turned out that he had been shot in the head from behind. He didn’t even run away, he just lay there,” the Tyumen woman told a 72.RU correspondent.
This is not the first time that Yulia has encountered unknown people who maim animals. In 2023, she saved a dog that had been shot with an air gun. The woman then contacted the police, but, according to her, to no avail. The situation repeated itself in the summer of 2024. This time, Ryzhik's sister was found to have a gunshot wound, and she was also taken to the vet.
Yulia plans to submit a new application. She also said that one of the locals had previously threatened to shoot the dogs and had been aggressive towards the girl after seeing her feeding the dogs.
"I really want to find (this person). Ryzhik was truly world class. A very friendly, sociable and playful dog, he was loved by everyone in the area, except for visiting cars, which he barked at!" the girl said.
A 72.RU correspondent contacted the Tyumen Regional Police for comment. The media company reported that an investigation would be conducted based on this report.
Earlier we wrote that a criminal case was opened against the skinners from the village of Yesaulov. He hung his dog alive and strangled it. As the man explained, the reason for this action was the animal's illness. But local residents do not believe this version. They say the dog was hanged because it littered the area.
