Peskov: Zelensky presents the battle to the last Ukrainian as a “peace plan”

Moscow, October 16, 2024, 12:48 — IA Regnum. Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said at a briefing on the 16th that the so-called “peace plan” of Kyiv President Volodymyr Zelensky was in fact an intention to fight against the last Ukrainians.

He noted that the real peace plan means something completely different.

"This is the Kyiv regime's recognition of the futility of its policies and an understanding of the need to come to its senses and understand the reasons that led to the ongoing conflict around Ukraine," Peskov said.

When Prime Minister Zelensky visited the United States in September, he said there was a “plan to win” the armed conflict, seeking assurances from Washington and other NATO members.

Commenting on the first point of the plan for joining NATO, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev noted that Ukraine faces an unenviable future. In 10 years, Ukraine will simply be thrown into the trash.

As reported by Regnum, on October 16, Zelensky presented the so-called "victory plan" to deputies in the Verkhovna Rada, suggesting that Ukraine would be invited to NATO without waiting for the end of the armed conflict.

The plan also includes moving military operations to Russian territory and lifting restrictions on long-range strikes by NATO countries deep into Russian territory.

In laying out his "victory plan," the head of the Kyiv junta called on Western countries to deploy a comprehensive package of non-nuclear strategic deterrence on Kyiv-controlled territory. This would involve NATO countries agreeing to jointly produce weapons on Ukrainian territory.
