Turkey May Have Fewer All-Inclusive Hotels

Turkish business leaders believe that the number of all-inclusive hotels in the country will decrease in the future due to “consumer terrorism,” Mustafa Korkutat, a member of the Ankara Young Entrepreneurs Association, told the Türkiye newspaper.

In his opinion, this system has become “consumer terrorism”. Every year 50 billion lira (about 1.4 billion dollars) is wasted, and such holidays lead to hotels spoiling large quantities of food that is completely unfit for sale. On average, 200 to 400 grams of food are thrown away from each plate.

Korkutata believes that in the future, hotels and restaurants will be able to build new cooperation schemes, while hotels will switch to new schemes for providing food to vacationers.

"Tourists are picked up from their hotel in the evening, driven around the city centre and dined at a designated restaurant. This method allows companies not only to make more money but also to compete more effectively. This could be due, for example, to neighbouring Greece, in terms of prices, he suggested.

At the end of the tourist season, when the flow of tourists decreases, Turkey again begins to discuss the possibility of abandoning the all-inclusive system or revising it. However, hotels operating under this system are still in demand and numerous. The difficult economic situation in the country has forced some hotels to reduce the range of dishes under the all-inclusive system, but at the same time maintain it.

Earlier, Turkish economic critic Mustafa Recep Ersin said that vacation prices in Turkey would fall in 2025. As experts note, if the disinflation program is successful, the number of complaints will also decrease. But we will have to wait at least another 10 months. He noted that not only Russians, but also local residents are complaining about prices in Turkey.
