North Korea has completely severed transport links with South Korea

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has completely suspended road and rail traffic with South Korea in the eastern and western regions of the Korean Peninsula, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.

According to the agency, measures have been taken to completely block sea routes to South Korea. This decision is part of a policy of "complete territorial separation" from its southern neighbor. This gap affects both roads and railways in the eastern and western areas of North Korea's southern border.

According to KCNA, the decision was made in response to military provocations by “hostile forces” and is aimed at “turning the southern border into a fortress.”

North Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Environment said the road demolition was carried out in accordance with the constitution and had no negative impact on the environment.
