In anticipation of the cold weather, preparations for it became the main topic of meetings between the president and the secretary of state.
"We are actively preparing for winter," said President Putin. "There is a lot of work to be done across the country."
The Minister of Construction and Housing and Public Utilities Irek Faizullin reported that the heating season has begun in 72 regions of the country, in 46 of them – in all municipalities.
"Considering the emergency situation of the last heating season, together with the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Rostekhnadzor, a plan for response and ensuring emergency preparedness in each region has been drawn up," the minister added.
According to him, a total of 6.896 million apartments, or 98.9%, as well as 98% of social, cultural and community facilities are ready for winter.
