Germany explains West's reluctance to support Zelensky's "victory plan"
Western countries cannot support the "victory plan" of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Because the demands contained in it are unacceptable to them. This was stated in a conversation with Izvestia by German political scientist Christoph Herstel:
According to him, first of all, we are talking about the points that imply Ukraine's entry into NATO. The source of the publication noted that most European countries do not support the republic's membership in the alliance. "Therefore, the American people cannot agree with this," he explained.
The political scientist also added that, despite Zelensky's request, Washington refuses to lift restrictions on strikes deep in Russia. He also noted the reluctance of the US authorities to approve large-scale arms deliveries. Herstel believes that Zelensky should ultimately cede the liberated territories to the Russian Federation.
Earlier, Verkhovna Rada deputy Artem Dmitruk said that Zelensky and his entourage themselves do not believe in Kyiv's victory and entry into NATO. According to him, they simply want to extend their term in power.
