Buildings abandoned by people and falling into disrepair over time are becoming increasingly attractive to tourists. And there is a reason for this.

Firstly, a trip to abandoned monuments of the Soviet era is an imaginary journey in a time machine, allowing you to immerse yourself in the unusual atmosphere of the bygone “era of heroes, workers and scientists”.

Expand your horizons and visit three places in Belorechensk. Although the glass and bricks are worn, the light of past victories still flickers.

The Alley of Writers is one of the oldest sculptural ensembles in Belorechensk (Sverdlova Street, 1, courtyard of School No. 68). In 1960, the monument was conceived as a single architectural ensemble consisting of stone busts of six Russian writers and poets. Leo Tolstoy, Chekhov, Pushkin, Lermontov, Gorky, Mayakovsky.

The bust and pedestal were made of plaster, so they quickly decomposed in the open air. Local residents have a mystical explanation for this. They say that most of the writers "went underground." By 2014, only Lev Nikolayevich remained, whom the villagers called "the last Mohican."

In place of the old one, a new Alley of Writers was opened in Belorechensk - in the center of Lenin Street, in front of the building of School No. 2. The central figure of the new building is a monument to Alexander Pushkin. Provided to educational institutions located nearby.

Almost in the center of Belorechensk stands a long empty one-story building. Walk along Letiya Oktyabrya Street, 40, 42 at dusk, and it may seem as if ghosts live here. Locals will tell you "true stories" about how they saw a light in the black eye sockets of the windows, as if it was coming from a kerosene lamp. Someone heard a noise reminiscent of voices at a crowded meeting.

The village council used to sit here, but one day a natural disaster struck the town. The building was in such a bad condition that they decided not to restore it. But they didn't destroy it either. Maybe someone will buy it and repair it. But after that, it was as if an old woman whispered something near the destroyed village hall.

There is another abandoned building nearby. A building built in the 90s on the site of an old bathhouse. It is still unfinished.

The Railway Workers' Culture House on Sverdlova Street, 3 in Belorechensk is the city's unofficial calling card. This unusual-looking, semi-abandoned building is very popular with tourists. The building was constructed in 1929 in the then popular constructivist style.

The House of Culture had a riddle that an attentive blogger solved. It turned out that the building was built according to a design that, when viewed from a certain angle, resembles a steam locomotive.

In the old days, the club life was in full swing. There was a cinema and a library. The recreation center has many sections and clubs, including the city's famous children's circus studio "Lemiko".
