His business partner was suspected of attempting to assassinate restaurateur Mishachev.

The man in question is Vitaly Slobodjanik, a 50-year-old restaurateur from Belarus whom Mishachev has known for more than 15 years. An explosive device disguised as trash had previously been planted on the hood of Mishachev's car. The restaurant owner's arm was cut off and a child was injured.

Details have emerged about the suspect in the assassination attempt on the famous restaurateur Viktor Mishachev. His business partner and long-time acquaintance has been charged with a criminal offense. He has been detained. According to RIA Novosti, this person is Vitaly Slobodjanik, a 50-year-old restaurateur from Belarus, whom Mishachev has known for over 15 years.

Their joint ventures include restaurant management company Mercury, Captain and Shaker Group, in which the partners each own an equal 25% stake.

Slobodjanik is also the co-founder of dozens of Mishachev bars and burger joints in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg. Among them are such well-known bars as Coyote Ugly, Humans Seafood Bar and Beef Restaurant. According to investigators, Slobodjanik is the main suspect in the assassination attempt.

The assassination plan was as follows: An explosive device was planted on the hood of Mishachev's car under the guise of garbage. He picked up the package, and the explosive exploded. Mishachev's arm was torn off, and his small child was injured.

What motives could such a business partner have? We discussed this with Leonid Pyatilroyd, co-owner of the Vietnamese cafe chain Lao Lee and founder of the literary and alcoholic salon "Sergey Yesenin".

The investigation is considering various versions of the car explosion in Moscow, but the priority is the entrepreneurial activity of the victims, the Investigative Committee reported. According to a survey of restaurateurs, Vitaly Slobodjanik is little known in the industry. Once a joint project with Mishachev, "Coyote Ugly", came to Novosibirsk, but did not stay there, local entrepreneurs say.

When Vitaly Slobodjanik was detained, a cache of automatic and bladed weapons, including Vepr and Saiga carbines, pistols, numerous magazines with ammunition and military equipment, was discovered in his Moscow apartment.

Slobodjanik previously served in the Belarusian special forces and reportedly holds Belarusian citizenship.
