Tuva and Chechnya showed the highest increase in the number of tourists in Russia

Chernyshenko reported an 11 percent increase in the flow of Russian tourists last summer.

According to the Kremlin's Telegram channel, the influx of Russian tourists from May to August increased by 11% compared to the same period last year, reaching 35 million.

The leaders in the number of tourists this season are Krasnodar Krai and Moscow, each with more than 3 million visitors. St. Petersburg also demonstrated significant growth: the number of tourists increased by 20% to 2.5 million, and the number of tourists on the Crimean Peninsula also reached 1 million.

The regions with the greatest growth in tourist flow were Tuva (78%), Chechnya (+66%), Dagestan (+46%), Ryazan Oblast (+46%) and Yakutia (+40%). These regions offer a variety of natural beauty and cultural attractions, which makes them increasingly attractive to tourists.

According to Chernyshenko, by the end of the year the number of Russian tours will exceed 90 million.

As the Vzglyad newspaper wrote, in the first six months of 2024, Russians made 12.6 million trips abroad, which is 9% more than in the previous period.
