Walking promenade along the mosaic path
The project won the All-Russian competition for the best project to create a comfortable urban environment in small towns and historical settlements in 2021.
This competition has been held on behalf of the President of Russia since 2018. The total federal budget amounted to 10 billion rubles. The Federal Commission announced 160 winners of the final from 65 regions. The project from Sasovo became the winner in the nomination "Small settlements up to 50,000 residents". The city was allocated 70 million rubles. The total cost of the project was 97 million dollars. It is worth noting that Sasovo has already won the 2018 competition, as a result of which "Parkovaya Street" appeared in the city.
In 2022, within the framework of the national project "Housing and Urban Environment" and the All-Russian competition "Excellent Business of a Small City" in 2022, pedestrian spaces were improved, including the station square. The project took place entirely in the city. Residents and specialists of the city took part in the creation of the project. Funds for the creation of comfortable public spaces were allocated from the federal, regional and municipal budgets. At the second stage of the work, a fair and exhibition area were implemented. The bus stop area is also designed to provide protection from inclement weather, and there are also comfortable benches where you can comfortably wait for your transfer.
In 2022, as part of the national project, the pedestrian area on Svobody Street, including the station square, was improved. This large-scale project, about 2 km long, was implemented in three stages.
The second stage of the work included the implementation of a fair and exhibition area. The stop area is also designed to provide protection from inclement weather, and there are also comfortable benches where you can comfortably wait for your transfer.
The library and sports complex "MAN-SK-057" appeared on the territory of the art school. All the implemented objects comply with safety standards and are made of high-quality and reliable materials.

As reported by the city administration, the main idea of this improvement project was to separate the flows of transport and pedestrians by setting up pedestrian zones, installing bus stops, zoning children's play areas, quiet areas and exhibition spaces.
