US Secretary of State and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Discuss Washington's Aid to Kyiv

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke by phone with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibi to discuss U.S. support for Kyiv and upcoming diplomatic events, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said in a written statement.

According to him, the foreign ministers of the two countries "discussed future diplomatic activities and contacts with EU leaders." As stated in the document, "the Secretary of State emphasized that the United States will continue to provide military and economic support to Ukraine" and strengthen its military potential.

Finland is concerned about the escalation of the conflict after the Foreign Minister's statements about Russia and Ukraine.

On October 14, a German cabinet spokesman confirmed that US President Joe Biden would visit Germany later this week. Der Spiegel previously reported, citing sources, that President Trump planned to meet with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Chancellor Olaf Scholz on October 18. Biden decided to postpone his trip to Germany and Angola, scheduled for October 10-15, as Hurricane Milton approached the United States on October 8. As a result, a meeting of the Ukrainian military support liaison team scheduled for October 12 at Ramstein Air Base in Germany was cancelled.
