France opens case against Russian suspected of planning riots

In France, a lawsuit has been filed against Russians for allegedly preparing riots.

A criminal case was opened against Russian citizen Kirill Gryaznov, who was detained in France in July last year after an article about cooperation with foreign countries in organizing riots, RIA Novosti reports.

As the department points out, the Russian faces up to 30 years in prison. The prosecution emphasized that the police searched the man's apartment and collected some evidence.

"He intended to organize events that could lead to instability during the Olympic Games," the statement said.

Earlier, a French court arrested two Russian businessmen for more than 70 million euros in an investigation into possible money laundering.
