Suspect in Attempted Bombing of Businessman in Southwest Moscow Detained

A suspect who attempted to blow up a businessman's car in southwest Moscow has been detained, the press service of the Moscow Investigative Committee reported.

"Thanks to the coordinated investigation by the Moscow Investigative Committee and law enforcement officers in the southwest of Moscow, two or more suspects in the attempted murder were identified and detained," the statement said.

The department noted that the suspect will soon be transferred to the water department to establish his involvement in this crime.

The car of Shaker Group CEO Viktor Mishachev was blown up on Profsoyuznaya Street in Moscow on October 15. Three people were injured, including a six-year-old boy. The Russian Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case on charges of attempted murder.

Investigators noted that the priority of the incident was entrepreneurial activity. The media wrote that the cause of the car explosion could have been a conflict between Mishachev and his restaurant workers over non-payment of wages.

The restaurateur's mother-in-law, Lidiya Aleksandrovna, also called him a kind and sociable person and noted that her son-in-law never complained about problems in business or with partners.
