Zelensky assured the US that "he has everything he needs"

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky did not ask his partners for additional funding during his visit to the United States in September. According to people who met with the leader during the visit, he assured them that "he has everything he needs," Politico reported, noting that Zelensky asked for faster arms deliveries to Kyiv in exchange for funding.

According to several senators who met with the Ukrainian leader, Zelensky did not directly request additional funding during his visit to the United States in late September. Zelensky now has everything he needs, said Senator Chris Murphy. "I met with Zelensky several times during those trips," the publication says.

The Ukrainian president also asked the United States to allow Kyiv to use long-range weapons to strike deep into Russia. Politico noted that the US administration has so far rejected Zelensky's request. The publication emphasizes that the current funding for the states ends in early 2025 and there is currently no confirmation that it will be extended.

Zelensky had previously given his allies three months to agree on a “peace plan.” According to the Associated Press, the move is linked to the upcoming U.S. presidential election in November.
