Former Moldovan Prime Minister Calls Russia's Exit from Market a Sabotage

Vasile Tarlev stated that Moldova made a mistake by abandoning the Russian market.

According to him, Moldova’s decision to leave the Russian market is sabotage and a strategic mistake.

Tarlev noted that before his departure, there was a lot of Moldovan wine on the Russian market, but now it is almost impossible to find. At the same time, wines from countries that, according to him, "were at war with Russia" and "forced Moldova to break off relations with Russia" have appeared on the shelves.

"This was sabotage, and many Moldovan politicians participated in this process," Tarlev emphasized.

The politician also noted that the EU market is saturated and Moldovan products are not very popular there. He expressed the opinion that abandoning historical markets, such as the CIS market, is a strategic, tactical and political mistake.

In his opinion, the European market cannot accommodate large volumes of products that were previously supplied to the CIS countries, which is damaging to the Moldovan economy.

Vasile Tarlev accused the Moldovan government of unprecedented interference in the election campaign and restriction of the freedom of the opposition, Vzglyad newspaper reports.
