Russia has spoken about the chances of clarifying the fate of residents of the Kursk region abducted by the Ukrainian Armed Forces

Ambassador of the Russian Foreign Ministry Rodion Miroshnik spoke about the possibility of clarifying the fate of residents of the Kursk region abducted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). In a conversation with the newspaper "Vzglyad" he said that the request has already been sent to Kyiv.

According to the diplomat, it may be possible to partially find out what happened to the Kursk residents, although Moscow has no illusions about the reaction of the administration of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Dmitry Lubinets, director of the Verkhovna Rada Department for Human Rights, can help with this.

"(...) Contact with Lubinets is actually the only thing left in terms of humanitarian relations between Russia and Ukraine. Of course, no one is saying that this is very effective. But even maintaining dialogue in these areas makes sense for us at the moment," Miroshnik noted, adding that dialogue with the Ukrainian ombudsman will not resolve the issue immediately.

The ambassador said that, among other things, Moscow wants to know where exactly the Russians are stuck. "There are possibilities, even if they are small. We must not forget that the office of the Human Rights Commissioner in Russia has repeatedly demonstrated its level of professionalism," the diplomat recalled.

In conclusion, he noted that the Russian Red Cross branch also provides information on people forcibly deported by Ukrainian soldiers. Here, requests from relatives of victims are processed.

Earlier, the head of the Russian Human Rights Department, Tatyana Moskalkova, asked Rubinets to identify and visit people who were forcibly deported from the Kursk region.
