A group of tourists were caught in a rockfall in the Altai Republic
Twelve tourists were trapped by falling rocks in the Altai Republic. As a result of the accident, one girl died and two others were injured. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations on Tuesday, October 15.
"Twelve members of a registered tourist group were caught in a rockfall, two 18-year-old girls were injured," rescuers reported on their Telegram channel.
The same day, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that one of the victims had been evacuated before dark. According to the description, the tourist walked towards the rescuers on his own along with other members of the group. The injured girl was taken to the hospital.
The rescue authorities added that there are currently nine rescuers and two units of equipment from the Russian Emergencies Ministry at the scene.
