Russian soldier says Ukrainian Armed Forces shoot surrendering comrades in the back

The deputy commander of the assault company of the Russian army with the call sign "Topol" told journalists about the cruelty shown by the Ukrainian army towards their comrades who decided to surrender.

The soldier said that during the liberation of the city of Ostrovskoe, Russian army fighters faced the problem of evacuating surrendered Ukrainian soldiers, since Ukrainian soldiers were shooting from behind.

"They drove out the enemy (from Ostrovsky - editor's note).... The 5th tank battalion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces does not even have tanks. They did not want to shoot, they threw down their weapons and surrendered... The troops of the Ukrainian Armed Forces of Ivano-My transferred people mobilized from Frankivsk and other cities, and they did not intend to shoot and immediately laid down their arms," Topol said.

According to him, the Russian side treats the prisoners humanely and provides them with food. However, they have not yet been able to take them out of the village due to shelling by the Ukrainian army.

"And the order does not allow us to get them out of there because they shoot in the back," the Russian soldier said.
