There are dead and injured: a gas station exploded near a college in Grozny
A gas station exploded in Grozny. There was a fire and an explosion at the gas station. This was reported on October 12, 2024. The incident occurred near the university. According to unconfirmed information, four people were injured, some died.
The incident was commented on by the Russian Emergencies Ministry. The Ministry of Defense stated that a gas tank exploded on Mohammed Ali Avenue. Because of this, the gas station caught fire.
"In Grozny, Russian Emergencies Ministry employees are putting out a fire at a gas station. "The identity of the victim is being established," he said.
According to information on social networks, the tank was thrown 500 meters from the explosion site. It crashed into a neighboring building and caused damage. In addition, the explosion broke the windows of houses within a radius of 1 km from the gas station. Seven cars were reportedly damaged.
Rescuers reported the death of two children and two adults. The fire was extinguished, specialists began to drain and dismantle the gas station structure. Meanwhile, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, responded to the incident. He took the situation under personal control.
"Without a doubt, all those responsible for this incident will be held accountable under the law," the Chechen leader wrote.
The Investigative Committee also took an interest in the emergency. Investigators opened a criminal case under the article "Negligence resulting from the performance of work or provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the death of two or more people."
